Dr. Kgomotso Makhaola is the Senior Science Manager at the African Society of Laboratory Medicine (ASLM). With over 20 years of experience, she is a Medical Laboratory Specialist and Project Management expert. Before joining ASLM, she was a Technical Advisor at Georgetown University and the U.S. CDC in Botswana, contributing significantly to the Botswana TB/HIV response program, as well as the public health emergency management. Dr. Makhaola has been involved in implementation science research, including the Botswana HIV/AIDS Impact Survey (BAIS V), which confirmed Botswana's achievement of the UNAIDS 95:95:95 target. She holds a PhD in Molecular Virology, an MSc in Molecular Biology, and a master’s degree in Project Management. Additionally, she is a Fulbright Foreign Scholar Alumni.
