Ms. Ngoni is a passionate Credit Risk Analyst and entrepreneur from Gaborone, Botswana, renowned for her commitment to fostering innovation and supporting youth entrepreneurship. Currently serving as a Credit Analyst at the Citizen Entrepreneurship Development Agency, Thapelo excels in evaluating credit loan applications, ensuring the financial viability of business proposals, and minimizing credit risks.
Thapelo has over 5 years’ experience in development finance and a certified in financial modelling and analysis by the University of Cape Town. She has held positions as an AML/CFT Compliance Officer and Financial Coordinator at deVere Acuma Botswana, where she developed compliance programs and built client relationships and sat on the main Board.
Thapelo is the founder of Lore Innovator, a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship to out-of-school youth aged 15-24 using the Jacobson Institute curriculum. Through this initiative, she has successfully trained and supported over 225 students in Botswana, empowering them with essential skills for economic independence.
An active participant in global leadership, Thapelo was a delegate at the Forbes Africa Under 30 Summit in 2024 and is a Mandela Washington Fellow for 2023. She holds a BCom in Risk Management from BA ISAGO University and an MBA in Finance at the University of Zambia.
